Print Ready Guidelines for Perfectly Printed Products
To ensure your printed products come out looking stunning, it's essential to prepare your files correctly. This guide will walk you through the key concepts of bleed, margin, resolution, and color mode requirements for your print-ready designs.
Bleed and Margin:
Bleed refers to the extra area of your design that extends beyond the actual finished size. This prevents any unwanted white borders after trimming. We recommend a standard 0.125" bleed on all sides of your design (making your artwork 0.25" larger on L x W than the final trim size). On the other hand, margins are the safe zones within your design. Important elements like text and logos should be placed within this area to avoid accidental cropping.
Resolution:
Image quality matters! For sharp and clear prints, set your images at a resolution of 300 dots per inch (dpi). This high resolution ensures your graphics look crisp and professional, even up close.
Color Mode Requirements:
For accurate color reproduction, designs must be in CMYK color mode. This stands for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Key (Black). Avoid using RGB colors, as they are primarily intended for digital displays and may appear differently when printed.
Preferred File Formats:
While we recommend using PDF files for their consistent compatibility and layout preservation, we also accept various other formats. These include PNG, JPG, JPEG, GIF, EPS, AI, PSD, and CDR. Choose the format that best suits your design's complexity and requirements.
Text Conversion and Design:
To prevent font-related issues, convert all text within your design to curves or outlines. This ensures that your typography remains intact even if the fonts are not available on our end. Additionally, your final print-ready file should be meticulously designed, with attention to detail, alignment, and overall aesthetics.
Additional Layers for Special Effects:
If your design includes special effects like Spot UV, White Ink, or other unique requirements, place them on separate layers or pages using black ink only. This segregation helps us accurately apply these effects to your design during printing.
File Submission:
